Job Description

The Webmaster is responsible for the development and maintenance of websites for ACCS projects. The incumbent will be responsible for performing day-to-day website maintenance, helping maintain company standards for design, performing navigation and browser compatibility tests, performing quality-control for internal and external content, and maintenance of key web applications. The position will require assisting in the development of website enhancements, updating content, and assisting in the redevelopment and maintenance of the Alabama Community College System’s Internet / Intranet websites. This resource will also be required to perform duties as it relates to Desktop Publisher to include, but not limited to, complex publishing projects, both printed and electronic, that include the formatting, alignment, and setup of text on published materials as well as integrating and creating graphics like photos, charts, and artwork into published materials. Additional responsibilities will include manipulating graphics and text using a wide variety of electronic printing and computer software applications that are used specifically for print publication and electronic document creation. -Conceptualize, develop and build websites for ACCS projects. -Perform day-to-day website maintenance, helping maintain company standards for design, performing navigation and browser compatibility, performing quality-control for internal and external content, and maintaining key web applications. -Receive and obtain information from all relevant sources related to ACCS Internet / Intranet websites and all publishing projects. -Maintain an inventory of photos and other elements that appear on the system’s Internet / Intranet websites. -Maintain the content that appears on publishing projects and the system’s Internet / Intranet websites. -Refresh ACCS’s Internet / Intranet website content to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information and images. -Troubleshoot website content, links, order flows, registration flows, and transaction logs and report all website based problems. -Review of website statistics to maintain optimal functionality. -Monitor the uptime of the system’s Internet / Intranet websites to maintain server availability as close to 100% as possible. -Respond to internal and external customer needs and/or requests by editing, correcting, and finalizing products before releasing documents for final printing. -Examine submitted pictures and materials from customers to determine suitability for publishing. -Utilize appropriate software to prepare print-ready electronic files for proof and final print. -Work with detailed layouts, resizing of images, and combine pages into usable and printable formats. -Utilize appropriate software to prepare electronic files for proof and final presentation. -Report the status and progress of assigned tasks to ensure that deadlines are met. -Other duties will be required as assigned if needed
Skills Required:

-3-5 years of experience in website development, creation and maintenance -2+ years of desktop publishing experience (can be contract work). -Must furnish portfolio of work (Print or Electronic). -Ability to work full time and on site -Ability to work independently as well as part of a team -Excellent oral and written communication skills -Proficient on the MAC Computer System. -Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Keynote, Excel, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Muse, WordPress, Joomla or other CMS platforms. -Familiarity with Adobe Premier or Final Cut Pro a plus but not required. -Good attention to detail is a necessity#HRBHAM
