A manufacturing company located in San Marcos, TX is currently seeking a Shipping/Receiving Clerk to joint their team!

Job Duties:

  • Unpack received goods and verify contents for quantity and product conformity.
  • Examine contents and compare with records such as invoices or purchase orders to verify accuracy of incoming shipments.
  • Enter receiving data into ERP system to maintain accurate inventory count.
  • Assure that received parts are available for quality inspection and production as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Identify, label and track ‘limited life’ materials and hazardous chemicals, including obtaining and saving Safety Data Sheets.
  • Stock inventory shelves and distribute materials for production to appropriate locations.
  • Compile and maintain shipping and receiving records such as freight receipts, packing slips, and purchase orders.
  • Work with quality and purchasing to rectify problems such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance of materials to specifications.
  • After training, operate machinery such as a hand truck or forklift to move or transport material from inventory to production areas.
  • Pick, count and kit materials for production requirements; accurately and efficiently assemble and distribute items.
  • Label kits and parts with appropriate information (part number, quantity, serial number) as provided.
  • Package, label and stock material in bins, racks, or shelves, according to identifying part number.
  • Build and issue kits, or individual parts in support of program and manufacturing material requirements.
  • Maintain 5S standards within inventory and receiving areas.
  • Identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety; upholding company and OSHA safety standards.
  • Assist with tracking and planning inventory levels, help to identify backorders and assist with expediting necessary materials/supplies.
  • Participating in physical inventory counts.
  • Maintain and organize shipping supplies.
  • Keeping receiving, inventory, shipping and other areas of the shop clean; recycle packaging materials, break down delivery boxes and dispose of waste.
  • Contact freight carriers as needed to plan deliveries and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
  • Monitor shipment lead times, delivery dates, and expected items.
  • Support process improvement activities in relation to materials management process steps.
  • Complete training on relevant quality procedures and understand his/her contribution to the achievement of company quality objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of related inventory or warehouse experience preferred
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs 
  • ???Able to drive a forklift
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management software
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri/7:30am-5:00pm (will need to stay until 5-6pm regularly), occasional weekends

Pay rate: $14-15/hour
