Material Handler Job Description Summary:

This position is responsible for the efficient and proper handling of materials. The primary responsibility for this position includes, but is not limited to, supplying equipment/work cells with raw materials and WIP materials. Other duties include the use of computer equipment (HRMS, intranet, etc.). This position is required to handle materials in a safe manner in order to prevent damage andin accordance with all CPG Safety Policies/Procedures as well as with all quality requirements. Also will perform other duties as assigned.
A. Responsible for Conveying Material (75% of the time)
1. Operate a forklift in a safe manner in accordance to CPG requirements.
2. Ensure that all work centers remain stocked with the correct material at all times.
3. Remove all unused material from the work centers immediately following use.
4. Modify warehouse load tags, as necessary to help maintain accurate inventory.
5. Remove all waste from the work centers throughout the day; all waste must also be removed at the end of each day.
6. Visually inspect material before moving and upon return.
7. Store all Raw Material and WIP goods in the proper storage areas.
8. Follows proper lockout and chocking procedures before entering trailors.
9. Assist the Receiving Department as needed.
B. Communicate with all departments(10% of the time)
1. Participate in TPS activities, including Kaizen events, as needed and required.
2. Communicate with all other departments to establish timelines for materials needed or produced.
3. Assist the Quality Department with NCRs for Warehouse inventory issues.
C. Maintain Equipment / Perform Safety Checks / Maintain Housekeeping(15% of the time)
1. Keep work area clean and organized.
2. Sweep the floors in assigned area of responsiblity.
3. Initiate work orders as needed and required.
4. Complete daily forklift checks, and drivers are required to be audited once per year.
5. Lockout and chock trailers prior to entry.

Basic understanding of materials used in this facility.
Must know how to read a tape measure. Knowledge of fractions is required.

Must possess a valid Concept Packaging Group Forklift Drivers License or have the ability to obtain one.
Must have strong mathematical skills.
Must possess good organizational skills.
