Job Description

The QA Technician is primarily responsible for working in support of the needs of the Smith & Nephew Quality Assurance group. This involves the essential job functions outlined below as well as other periodic assigned activities critical to supporting the department and strategic goals of the organization. Responsible for the support of the complaint handling system according to internal procedures and applicable regulations. Assists with activities within the Quality Engineering area related to non-conforming material CAPA investigations and complaints etc. Annual product reviews; facilitation of data contributors adherence to timelines and drive to approval. Helps ensure proper documentation of complaint analyses. Assists in other Quality activities and projects as assigned to meet departmental goals and objectives. Functions as a backup to the QA Systems Complaints Specialist for all qualifying activities in accordance with internal procedures. Assists in the compilation of lot reconciliation data for product received into inventory at distribution centers.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Position Functions Maintenance and support of the complaint process Support activities of Quality Assurance department Support of Quality Engineering activities REQUIREMENTS Travel No travel requiredEducation Bachelor Degree preferred or equivalent experience Licenses/Certifications Relevant certifications preferred.Experience Minimum two (2) years of experience preferably in medical device or pharmaceutical industry. Must have experience working within a regulated environment (medical devices etc.). Must have a thorough knowledge of applicable standards and regulations such as 21 CFR 211 CFR820 and ISO13485. Competencies Effective oral and written communication skills with a high degree of ability to interact effectively with other levels of management.Other Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
