Job Description

A company located in New Braunfels, TX is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with clients with 1-1,000 employees to process payroll
  • Review reports and validate totals for accuracy within the payroll system
  • Provide outstanding customer service to all clients
  • Maintain integrity and confidentiality of HR / payroll database and its contents
  • Develop strong business partnerships with clients, including the owners or their respective human resources, payroll, and/or accounting team members
  • Timely resolution of client questions / inquiries
  • Respond to client telephone calls or emails and follow up as needed
  • Assist and train clients on Hill Country Payroll’s software solutions
  • Assisting in quarter end / year end reporting and tax return preparation
  • Assist management with special projects, software updates, new procedures, and other duties as required


  • Focused on accuracy \\ very detail oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Must be a team player, able to work collaboratively and positively, at all times
  • Ability to operate within a high-volume environment and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • 3 + years customer service \\ accounting experience required
  • 2+ years of college coursework or an Associates degree preferred
  • Strong aptitude in working with numbers
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and web applications
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri/8am-5pm (employee must be flexible to come in later and work later till 5:30pm-6:00pm some days) 

Pay rate: $17-18/hour
